GRADES: 10, 11, 12 CREDIT: 0.5 / Semester 1 FEES: In District/$225.00; OTHER: A grade of B or better in Algebra is highly recommended. A scientific calculator is required. Due to the continuity of this yearlong course, students must enroll in both semesters. In 2020, this course will be offered through Educere, a 3rd-party online education provider. All registrants will receive en email with further instructions from the Summer School Principal by 5/29/20. Note: There will be no class on Monday July 6th Chemistry is a laboratory-oriented approach for investigating chemical concepts. Example concepts include chemical bonding, physical and chemical properties, naming compounds, chemical quantities, thermochemistry, and nuclear chemistry. Due to topics such as stoichiometry and dimensional analysis, proficiency in algebra is strongly encouraged. Decision-making skills based on chemical knowledge are included. Connections to relevant societal and technological issues are discussed. This is a general college prep course, not an honors level, however this course will move at an accelerated pace. PREREQUISITE: Algebra & placement for grade 10
